Regular Season Update
Tony Ho’s Division II Dragons have started off the season 2-4-1 after going 1-1-1 at the 422 Sportsplex event this passed weekend in Pottstown PA. The A team battled back to gain a point against stubborn Binghamton to keep them right in the thick of things in the Liberty Conference of the ECRHA. Pete Psyrris and Captain Chris Adams lead the team with 14 points each and goaltender Jim Heisler is second in the league in saves with 187 as the club prepares for their first travel tournament of the season in two weeks in Old Bethpage NY at Skate Safe America on November 21st-22nd.
The Dragons start off the weekend with a 1PM contest with Vermont (1-2-1), followed by an evening showdown at 6PM with the Terriers from Boston (2-2-0). Sunday’s schedule includes an early, 8AM faceoff with the University of Maine (1-2-1) followed by a noontime matchup against Albany (1-3-0).
Coach Ness’s PCRHL teams are both .500 and find themselves among the league’s elite in all categories. His Tier 1 Dragons lost a close, hard fought battle 4-3 against Penn and all their snipers, keeping league scoring leader and defending point champ, Perry Clarkson to zero points in the contest. The Tier 2 club had its hands full with a tough West Chester club and fell 5-1.
This weekend (11/15) will see the Tier 1 team battle Villanova at 2PM and Tier 2 take on Rowan at 3PM at the Marple Sports Arena. Good luck to all!
