Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, October 4th from 8am-12pm. All new and returning players are required to attend if you expect to play this season. The fee for tryouts will be $20. You will not be allowed to tryout if you do not pay this fee. Please bring all necessary equipment (skates, shin pads, helmet, gloves) along with other highly recommended equipment (cup, elbow pads). If you need a ride, we will be carpooling from Drexel Pizza at 7am that morning.
Also, time has come to brush off the dust and get back on the rink. Our Pre-Season practices are scheduled for every Thursday in September (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th) as well as the first Thursday of October (2nd) at 10 PM. These practices are designed to get you back into shape for the upcoming season and are in no way a tryout.
Our annual Pre-Season meeting is scheduled for October 2nd at 8 PM in the DAC Media Room. This meeting is mandatory for new players and recommended for returning players. This meeting goes over everything you need to know about the club as well as information regarding this upcoming season.
For new and interested players, you can sign up for our message board and our mailing list! We do all of our important communicating via the message board (http://www.durhc.com/bb) , so it is quite important. Please be sure to use your name as your user ID (FirstLast), and follow all instructions upon signing up.

Drexel came out strong against Widener and secured a 2 goal lead early. Widener came back to tie, but the Dragons would not back down and went on a scoring spree to finish off Widener by a score of 6-2.
Next week, the Dragons will play Penn State Delco in the semi-finals on their way to victory.
Day and time to be announced.

The Drexel Dragons add another win onto their winning streak, which is now up to 5 games. Down by 2 goals with 1:27 left in the 3rd period, Al Borelli knocked in 2 goals to tie it up with goaltender Jimmy Heis on the bench for the extra attacker. With 5 seconds left in the game, Borelli put in yet another goal for the game winner, clinching a single shift hat trick.
Playoff details will be announced as they are revealed by the league.

This past weekend, the Drexel PCRHL team upped their winning streak to four games with wins in both games of the doubleheader.
Starting off with a crushing 10-0 win against Ursinus on February 24th, Drexel has been in high spirits coming into this weekend. In the first of two games, Drexel kept West Chester at their pace, and prevented WC from using their trademark speed. Drexel then faced Widener University in a late 11:00pm start. Coming out a bit sluggish, Drexel found themselves down by two powerplay goals at the end of the first period. However, the team was able to fire itself back up again, and scored the game winning goal with just 3 seconds left on the clock.
Next week, Drexel tentatively faces Ursinus University once again on the eve of Easter Sunday. Details of this game are still uncertain since Urisinus has not showed to their last three PCRHL games.
On a side note: New pictures from the 2007-2008 ECRHA and PCRHL games will be uploaded to the gallery soon.

Hello Everyone!
I’m glad to see that we are receiving quite a bit of interest this year from new players. It’s good to know that the future of our club continues to look so promising.
I just wanted to give a few reminders regarding the upcoming month. For our event calendar, see the sidebar.
For new players, sign up for the message board (please read the Welcome thread before doing so, though) ! We do all of our important communicating via the message board, so it is quite important. Please be sure to use your name as your user ID (FirstLast), and follow all instructions upon signing up.
I would also like to say, that the Drexel Roller Hockey Club is most definitely a co-ed club. I have received interest from four different females, regarding playing. So if you are an interested female don’t hesitate to come out!
We have practice this Tuesday and Thursday (October 2nd and 4th) at 10 PM at the Sporstplex in Feasterville. All new players are encouraged to attend. We have already had a number of new players attend already. Trust me, it will help you come tryouts. We typically meet at Drexel Pizza to carpool. See the message board for more information.
Also on Thursday October 4th at 8 PM is our annual pre-season meeting. New and returning players are encouraged to attend, but it is especially important for new players. I will go over all of the important information regarding our club. Not only that but I get to meet all of you, and answer all of your questions. The meeting will be at the DAC Media room, downstairs to the left of the gym.
This weekend is the Pre-season ECRHA Columbus Day Event. Our A and B teams will be attending as usual. Because our tryouts are not until after this event, our coaches are choosing teams based on our practices. If you are a new player and would like a shot at being rostered this weekend, you must come out to practice this Tuesday and Thursday.
Next week, we will again have practice on Tuesday and Thursday (October 9th and 11th) at 10PM. These will be the last 2 practices before tryouts, so it will be your last chance to knock off the rust.
Tryouts are Saturday, October 13th at 8 AM at the Sportsplex. There is a $15 tryout fee to cover administrative and rink costs. Everyone must be there by 8 AM so we can take care of administrative work. We will get on the rink at 9 AM to begin tryouts. We have the rink reserved until 2 PM just in case we have a very large turnout (which looks promising!). Again, please see the message board for more information, especially regarding rides and carpooling. You will know what team you are placed on at the end of tryouts, but I will say, every year we have players climb the ladder in terms of teams. We currently have A team players that started off as D team players.
Following tryouts we will then adhere to our “standard” practice schedule. The A and B teams will practice on both Tuesdays and Thursdays, while the Blue and Gold teams (formally referred to as C and D teams) will practice together on Thursday nights.
Please email me, president@durhc.com, with any further questions. And lastly, sign up for the message board!
Thank You,
Kevin Christmann
